Accessibility

Last updated 17 August 2026

We want every retailer to be able to use Retessia, including people who browse with a keyboard only, a screen reader, screen magnification, voice control, or with low vision or color blindness. That is not a box we tick at the end. It is part of how the thing gets built.

The standard we build to

We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium. It is the benchmark referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the one we hold ourselves to.

What that means on this site

What we do not use

We do not install accessibility overlay widgets, the plugins that promise instant compliance through a floating toolbar. They do not fix the underlying problems and people who rely on assistive technology consistently report that they make things worse. We prefer to fix the code.

Where we are honest about the limits

This site has been reviewed and tested by us against the standard above. It has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist or by people who use assistive technology every day. That review is planned before Retessia opens to customers. Until then, treat this page as a statement of what we are aiming for and what we have checked, not as a certification.

Parts of Retessia that are still in development are held to the same standard, and we will update this page as those become available to customers.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it, and we will treat it as a problem worth fixing rather than a complaint to manage.

Email hello@retessia.com. It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what you use to browse, for example a particular screen reader or browser. You do not need to know the technical terms. Describing what happened is enough.

We aim to reply within five business days, and to tell you either that it is fixed or when it will be.

Another way in

If something on the site is blocking you and you would rather not wait, email us and we will take your information directly, or arrange another way to get you what you need.
